Job Requirements

  • At least high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in hospitality or customer service role
  • Proficiency in computer applications and communication tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Must be customer service oriented with attention to detail
  • Capable of multitasking and working under pressure
  • Willingness to participate in training sessions and meetings
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles
  • Availability to respond promptly to guest inquiries and concerns
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability consistent with hotel standards

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience in a hotel or related industry
  • Previous guest service experience required
  • Computer knowledge and skills required
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills required
  • College degree helpful
  • Long hours sometimes required
  • Light physical work exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor and be an ambassador of Aloha Spirit at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests
  • Skilled in listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Participate in manager on duty coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance as per scheduling needs
  • High standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
  • Proactive in identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and data
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform other duties as required by management

Job Duties

  • Respond to all guest concerns filtered through hotel departments, social media, and guest satisfaction index either in person, electronically or by phone
  • Monitor trends associated with service levels and guest complaints
  • Serve as a lobby ambassador to greet guests and assist them with their needs
  • Review and organize guest mail and assist with mailing out guest packages post departure
  • Assist with Front Office Operations including PBX and Front Desk operational needs
  • Work and communicate with managers or departments regarding guest issues or areas of concern
  • Coordinate all resort activities including cultural programming, entertainment, kids activities, and pool deck programming
  • Create and manage the resort's calendar of activities
  • Liaison between resort and third-party operators for programming and outdoor classes
  • Coordinate special events and evening activities
  • Organize managers' receptions
  • Create exhibits or crafts celebrating the Oceanarium and cultural aspects of Alohilani
  • Maintain tracking sheets to monitor events, vendor utilization, income, and expenses
  • Assist with invoice payments and document all transactions
  • Provide training for activity department team members and volunteers
  • Produce a calendar of events for upcoming seasons within budget
  • Develop innovative programming and communication to activate hotel public areas
  • Act as liaison for all VIP guest special requests and execute service deliverables
  • Carry a company phone while on property
  • Organize fundraising and community activities
  • Maintain accurate office and activity supply inventories
  • Weigh all sides of situations and compensate guests fairly when necessary
  • Attend departmental and morning meetings, taking notes and distributing to team
  • Evaluate and respond to social media and online service channels to enhance reputation
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
