Job Requirements
- At least 16 years of age (except for some roles requiring 15 years)
- ability to speak, dance, and perform confidently in front of large groups multiple times daily
- flexibility in scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to read and understand English
- successful background check and drug screening
- physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- able to sit or stand for extended periods
- ability to wear and perform in character suits for up to 60 minutes under heat and humidity
- ability to perform in hot, humid, and outdoor environments up to 60 minutes
Job Qualifications
- Some high school education or equivalent
- proven customer service and communication skills
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- comfortable performing in front of large groups
- ability to read and interpret English language safety and operational manuals
- successful completion of criminal background and drug screen
- previous experience in entertainment, dance, or theater preferred
- charismatic and enthusiastic attitude
- ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with minimal direction
- experience working with children or as a character preferred
- proven teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Personally interact with Great Wolf Lodge guests
- willing to perform child-friendly promotional activities on-site and in the community
- represent Great Wolf Lodge and its mission and core values positively on and off site
- perform all branded experiences according to standard operating procedures
- conduct high energy brand events including Storytime, Dance Party, Yoga, Arts and Crafts, and Master Magi Ceremony
- interact with families while leading hands-on activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, and board games
- manage all aspects of Character Appearances and Entertainment, including performing character appearance duties, guiding characters during meet and greets, maintaining costume care and operations, committing to assigned schedules for character appearances, and fulfilling both character and guide roles interchangeably
- participate in seasonal event activities throughout the year
- learn and implement new programming multiple times per year
- maintain performance quality at all times as if on stage
- support community appearances including sponsors, charities, tradeshows, media, and private functions
- assist with inventory of event and activity materials
- maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment during the production of branded experiences
