  • Ability to articulate menu offerings clearly
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • Cascade a spirit of hospitality in all dealings with residents, colleagues and guests
  • Lead service of food or beverages to residents and prepare or serve specialty diets and dishes as required
  • Engage with residents to obtain desired orders for food or beverages while articulating daily menu offerings
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
  • Ensure residents are satisfied with all aspects of service and communicate issues to supervisor
  • Check residents' diets, likes and dislikes to ensure requirements are satisfied
  • Assist with set-up and breakdown of all scheduled meal periods
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware and linens as needed
  • Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, tidying service stations, clearing tables and taking out trash
  • May wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils or other cooking equipment
  • May assist culinary staff at numerous stations as directed
  • Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
