- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
Job Duties
- Cascade a spirit of hospitality in all dealings with residents, colleagues and guests
- Lead service of food or beverages to residents and prepare or serve specialty diets and dishes as required
- Engage with residents to obtain desired orders for food or beverages while articulating daily menu offerings
- Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
- Ensure residents are satisfied with all aspects of service and communicate issues to supervisor
- Check residents' diets, likes and dislikes to ensure requirements are satisfied
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of all scheduled meal periods
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware and linens as needed
- Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, tidying service stations, clearing tables and taking out trash
- May wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils or other cooking equipment
- May assist culinary staff at numerous stations as directed
- Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
