Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Effective communication skills including positive language and attentiveness to guests needs
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
Attention to detail while multitasking
Ability to educate guests and engage around products and services
Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle cash register operations accurately
Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions
Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds
Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Reliable and prompt attendance
Ability to remain mobile during shift

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of retail operations and customer service principles
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse guests
Basic proficiency with technology and point-of-sale systems
Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
Team player with a positive attitude

Job Duties

Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact and tailor the approach
Engage with guests in a genuine way by asking questions to better understand their specific needs
Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues and improve the guest experience
Scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards
Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality
Make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
Promote Target Loyalty programs and assist guests with registration
Assist guests in using digital features such as the Target Wallet and app
Facilitate enrollment and use of all fulfillment services
Handle returns following store policies and involve leaders as needed
Partner with leaders to de-escalate negative situations and recover the guest experience
Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
Stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests
Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
Work safely and correct hazards
Support guest services in compliance with laws and policies
Perform other duties as required by business needs
