Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior retail or customer service experience preferred but not required
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to stand and remain mobile for the duration of the shift
  • ability to lift and move merchandise regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to handle checkout operations accurately
  • familiarity with handheld technology devices
  • compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • ability to work in varying temperature and environmental conditions
  • willingness to comply with company policies and ethical standards

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
  • make guests aware of current promotions, store activities and events
  • be knowledgeable about the tools, products and services available in the total store and specific to your area to solve issues and improve guest experience
  • thank guests and inform them that Target is glad they chose to shop
  • know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed
  • scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
  • work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy
  • understand and show guests how to use features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet
  • be familiar with order pick-up, Drive Up and online ordering and direct guests on enrolling, activating, and using these features
  • attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders to resolve issues while following policies
  • maintain a clean, clutter-free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal
  • stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests
  • demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • work safely at all times, comply with safety policies, best practices, and training, report and correct hazards
  • support guest services such as order pick-up, Drive-up orders, and returns while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws
  • perform all other duties based on business needs
