Job Requirements
- Ability to accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as needed
- ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance
- reliable and punctual with a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- physically able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
- capable of working in varying temperatures and humidity conditions
- strong guest interaction skills with a welcoming and helpful attitude
- commitment to ethical conduct and safety compliance
- willingness to educate guests and engage in product and service promotion
- able to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate technology equipment
- must comply with company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous retail or customer service experience beneficial but not required
- strong communication skills including the use of positive language and attentive listening
- ability to use technology tools such as handheld scanners and communication devices
- willingness to learn and promote Target products, services, and loyalty programs
- ability to work independently and within a team
- capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
- flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
- attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Job Duties
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
- engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
- make guests aware of current promotions, store activities and events
- be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the store and specific to your area to solve issues and improve the guest experience
- thank guests and let them know we appreciate their choice to shop at Target
- speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application or sign-up as needed
- scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
- work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy
- understand and show guests how to use features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet
- be familiar with order pick-up, drive up and online ordering, and help guests enroll, activate, and use these features
- attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with immediate leaders as needed to solve guest issues while following Target's policies and procedures
- maintain a clean, clutter-free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal
- stock supplies during store open hours while being available for guests
- demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- work in a safe manner at all times by complying with safety policies, best practices, and training, and report hazards
- support guest services such as order pick up, drive-up orders, DU returns, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
- perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
