Job Requirements

  • Ability to handle cash register operations and cash transactions accurately
  • capability to work in varying temperatures and environments
  • ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely including lifting up to 44 pounds occasionally
  • flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior customer service experience is a plus but not required
  • effective communication skills including positive language use
  • ability to engage guests with a welcoming and helpful attitude
  • attention to detail while multitasking
  • willingness to educate guests about products and services
  • proficiency in operating technology such as handheld scanners and communication devices
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • capacity to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks within set timeframes

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact and tailor your approach accordingly
  • engage with guests in a genuine way, including asking questions to understand their needs
  • be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to solve guest issues
  • thank guests genuinely and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently and in compliance with safety standards
  • work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-ups
  • demonstrate knowledge of Wallet and features within the Target App
  • support and guide guests on all fulfillment services and enrollment
  • process returns accurately and follow procedures
  • collaborate with leaders to resolve negative situations and recover guest experiences
  • deliver accurate services to order pick-up, drive-up, and registry guests
  • maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • stock supplies during store hours
  • demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • work safely, identifying and correcting hazards
  • support guest services including order pick-up, drive-up, and returns, ensuring compliance with legal requirements
  • perform other duties as needed based on business requirements
