Job Requirements

  • Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and peak times
  • ability to accurately handle checkout and cash office operations
  • physical ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • capability to remain mobile throughout shifts
  • ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions
  • willing to comply with all safety policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience in retail or customer service is beneficial
  • effective communication skills including positive language and active listening
  • friendly and welcoming attitude toward guests and team members
  • strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • willingness to educate guests about products and services
  • ability to operate handheld scanners, multiple frequency devices, and other technology
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • capability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their needs
  • make guests aware of current promos, store activities and events
  • be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the store to improve guest experience
  • thank guests and let them know we appreciate their business
  • speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with applications or sign-up as needed
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently and accurately in compliance with food safety standards
  • work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality and accuracy
  • understand and demonstrate the use of Target app features including Wallet
  • be familiar with order pick-up, drive-up and online ordering, directing guests to enroll and use these features
  • handle returns following register prompts and coordinate with leaders as needed
  • maintain a clean, clutter-free workspace
  • stock supplies during store hours while being available to guests
  • demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • comply with safety policies and report hazards
  • support guest services such as order pick-up, drive-up orders, and returns while executing duties lawfully
  • perform additional duties based on business needs
