Job Requirements
- ability to accurately handle checkout operations and transactions
- capacity to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely including lifting up to 44 pounds
- flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- reliable and prompt attendance
- ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
- capability to work in varying temperature and humidity conditions
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous retail or customer service experience beneficial but not required
- effective communication skills including positive language and attentiveness
- welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- ability to prioritize tasks with attention to detail
- willingness to educate guests on products and services
- ability to operate multiple frequency devices and handheld technology
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- capability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
- engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
- make guests aware of current promotions, store activities, and events
- be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience
- thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target
- encourage and assist guests with Target Loyalty program sign-ups
- scan and bag guest items efficiently and accurately
- minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality
- educate guests on Target App features including Wallet
- direct guests to enroll and use Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, and online ordering services
- process returns following company policies
- maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
- stock supplies during store hours while assisting guests
- uphold a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- work safely and report hazards
- support guest services such as Order Pick-Up and Drive-Up orders
- perform other duties as business needs require
