Job Requirements

  • must have a high school diploma or GED
  • valid driver’s license required
  • able to lift items that weigh up to 50lbs
  • able to push or pull a baggage cart and operate baggage equipment
  • proficient with baggage and express operations and able to quote rates and information
  • must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • maintain a positive, good-natured attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • proficient with baggage and express operations and able to quote rates and information
  • skilled in processing Amtrak tickets and understanding tariffs
  • qualified with the operation of Arrow, RailRes/Stars and QuikTrak
  • familiar with the Passenger Information Display System
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • ability to maintain a positive, good-natured attitude
  • comfortable interacting with customers and using Amtrak computer systems

Job Duties

  • Greet, service and ensure the general comfort of each passenger
  • provide assistance to customers with special needs, assist passengers with luggage and boarding trains
  • make ticket reports promptly and properly safeguard company funds
  • maintain ticket printers and Quik-Trak machines
  • keep information racks filled as needed
  • perform clerical duties related to the station
  • disseminate verbal and printed information to passengers including schedules, fares, routing, and boarding information
  • ensure timely passenger train boarding and verify travel documents
  • perform janitorial duties
  • handle checked baggage, package express and company materials in the station and on/off train
