Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years of hotel group sales experience
- Proven success in securing business and meeting revenue goals
- Demonstrated ability to close business and negotiate effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Preferred experience with hotel sales systems such as Delphi or OnQ
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Availability to work full-time on-site at Embassy Suites by Hilton Birmingham
- Ability to travel locally or regionally for client meetings and events
- Ability to conduct property site inspections and client tours
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

- Demonstrated ability to close business, negotiate effectively, and manage client relationships
- Proficiency with hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, OnQ) is preferred and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and account management abilities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Results-driven with a proactive, self-motivated approach
- Collaborative team player who supports and contributes to a positive work environment
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours for client meetings, site visits, and events as needed
Job Duties
- Proactively identify and develop new group business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and participation in trade and community events
- Manage existing group accounts to maintain relationships, ensure renewals, and secure future business opportunities
- Respond promptly to inquiries and RFPs, preparing tailored proposals, presentations, and contracts that align with brand and property standards
- Negotiate group room blocks, function space, food & beverage minimums, meeting room rental, and other hotel services within established guidelines
- Conduct site inspections, client presentations, and hotel tours to showcase meeting facilities and amenities
- Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Operations, Catering, and Front Office teams to optimize group blocks, space utilization, and revenue mix
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, leads, and client communications in the CRM/sales system
- Develop and execute sales strategies and segment-specific action plans aligned with hotel goals and budgets
- Participate in weekly and monthly revenue meetings, providing input on forecasts and performance updates
- Represent the hotel at community, industry, and trade association events to enhance visibility and generate leads
- Partner with marketing to develop collateral, digital campaigns, and targeted outreach efforts that support group business growth
- Prepare regular reports detailing sales activity, performance metrics, and market trends
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing
