Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience selling guest rooms, banquets, food and beverage and meeting space in a full-service hotel with at least 10,000 sq ft of meeting and event space
- valid driver’s license in the applicable state
- proficiency in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
- ability to communicate effectively with employees and guests
- ability to multitask and prioritize
- attendance at required meetings and trainings
- flexibility to work long hours when needed
- capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- comply with company standards and regulations
- maintain confidentiality of information
Job Qualifications
- At least four years of progressive hotel sales experience or a four-year college degree and at least two years of related experience or a two-year college degree and three or more years of related experience
- strong communication skills both verbal and written
- effective listening and problem-solving abilities
- multitasking and prioritization skills
- adherence to company policies and procedures
- professional appearance and grooming
- ability to handle confidential information
- knowledge of hotel sales policies and computerized sales management systems
- ability to conduct site inspections and client presentations
Job Duties
- Attend daily business review meetings with the Director of Sales
- develop full knowledge of hotel operations including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations
- ensure adherence to company sales policies and SOPs
- meet or exceed set sales goals
- manage sales department within established budget
- participate in management on duty and Saturday office coverage as scheduled
- initiate and follow up on leads
- maintain an active sales solicitation program
- monitor production of top accounts and market trends
- regularly contact existing accounts
- meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals
- invite clients for hotel tours, entertaining, and site inspections
- assist in implementing special sales promotions
- prepare required sales reports timely
- conduct professional site inspections highlighting hotel features
- use computerized sales management system to manage bookings and client data
- greet onsite contacts
- abide by Prime Selling Time policies
- develop networking opportunities through community involvement
- review meeting planner evaluations and ensure follow-up
- entertain clients
- handle inquiries during Inquiry Day program
- manage weekly goal achievement
