Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hospitality sales experience
  • Knowledge and expertise in sales and/or event management
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail in business correspondence
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative approaches
  • Strong personal skills including time management, planning, decision making, and problem solving
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations including discounts, interest, and percentages
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in client research and industry trends
  • Ability to travel including overnight stays and client entertainment
  • Must adhere to Columbia Hospitality Policies and Procedures

Job Duties

  • Meet and exceed sales goals of assigned market segments
  • Focus on achieving revenue goals through sales plan and strategy
  • Develop and manage key client relationships
  • Maintain accurate records in Sales & Events database
  • Report weekly achievements and adjust goals as needed
  • Secure new business by making outside sales calls
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events
  • Conduct site inspections and client presentations
  • Respond to inbound RFPs within 24 hours
  • Use negotiation and closing tactics effectively
  • Differentiate from competition to add customer value
  • Implement sales plans to maximize market share
  • Create seamless client experience from sales to event management
  • Achieve assigned goals and objectives
  • Maximize time management and productivity
  • Forecast revenue of assigned groups
  • Develop and maintain favorable department relationships
  • Establish positive client relationships
  • Comply with accounting standards
  • Confirm accurate revenue posting and billing
