Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in museum or educational setting preferred
- One year of clerical experience including cashiering, computer operations, and customer service or equivalent
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
- Must possess valid driver's license and good driving record
- May need to provide personal vehicle for job use
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift light weights (5-10 pounds)
- Ability to use office equipment and keyboards for extended periods
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently to the public
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in museum or educational setting preferred
- College coursework in Museum Studies, History, Science, Education, or related field preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to engage and work well with diverse age groups
- Skill in using modern office equipment and computer operations
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with staff and the public
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environments
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
Job Duties
- Support school and group tour programs at Kenosha Public Museum, Civil War Museum, and Dinosaur Discovery Museum
- Assist Curators of Education by presenting classroom and exhibit-based programs
- Prepare and set up for daily group visits
- Welcome groups and facilitate orientations
- Format and proofread program handouts and materials
- Assist with planning and implementation of museum summer camps
- Support summer camp activities including supervision and activity preparation
- Maintain camp supply inventories and assist with check-in/check-out
- Facilitate drop-in interactions and interpretive carts
- Support public programs including occasional evenings and weekends
