Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of related work experience
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience
  • Experience in group housing and/or front desk preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work full-time
  • Must be located on-site
  • Ability to handle physically light tasks
  • Proficiency with reservation systems

Job Duties

  • Supervise the accuracy of group blocks, room reservations and market codes
  • Communicate the company’s values and culture to new employees
  • Review and implement new reservation procedures
  • Process all room reservations, requests, changes and cancellations received by phone, fax or mail
  • Identify guest needs for reservations and determine the appropriate room type
  • Verify room type and rate availability
  • Explain guarantee policies, special rates and cancellation policies to callers
  • Handle and document special requests
  • Respond to questions about facilities, services and room accommodations
  • Use sales techniques to maximize revenue
  • Enter and access data in the reservation system
  • Address difficulties arising from guest reservation requests
  • Set up billing accounts according to accounting policies
  • Resolve and document guest problems or escalate to appropriate personnel
  • Assist management with training, scheduling, coaching, discipline, motivation and serve as the first point of contact for fair treatment and open door policy
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • Receive and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Cultivate positive working relationships
  • Meet quality assurance expectations
  • Read and verify information in various formats
  • Perform physical tasks such as moving objects weighing 10 pounds or less
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
