Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Current and valid fitness instructor certifications
- Experience modifying exercises for diverse populations and abilities
- Ability to teach safe and effective aquatic fitness classes
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Availability for part-time shifts including possible virtual instruction
- Willingness to comply with Apex policies and emergency procedures
Job Qualifications
- Certified instructor in aquatic fitness, Les Mills BodyPump, Shapes, or other fitness programs
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to modify exercises for participants with varying fitness levels and abilities
- Knowledge of injury prevention and proper exercise form
- Passionate about motivating and engaging participants
- Experience teaching a variety of fitness formats including HIIT and circuit training
- Familiarity with fitness technology and progress tracking
Job Duties
- Foster strong relationships with Apex members to encourage class attendance
- Create and conduct engaging aquatic fitness classes including water aerobics and aqua Zumba
- Substitute for other fitness classes as necessary
- Announce and inform participants about relevant Apex activities and programs
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings to stay current with policies and procedures
- Maintain and submit certifications and continuing education credits as required
- Respond appropriately to all emergency situations during classes
