Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years progressive sales experience in golf, hospitality, or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of golf
  • Experience with diverse group types including tour and travel, entertainment, guestroom-only, and golf groups
  • Ability to build relationships and generate new business
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and sales reporting
  • Valid Oregon Driver License
  • Knowledge of golf segment
  • Willingness to travel locally within 50 miles and occasional regional travel

Job Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of golf and proven ability to plan, manage, and execute golf tournaments
  • Experience handling diverse group types including tour and travel, entertainment, guestroom-only groups, and golf groups

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and sales reporting

Job Duties

  • Effectively sell and manage group business including golf groups, tour and travel groups, entertainment groups, and guestroom-only groups
  • Generate group leads, build a strong pipeline, and prospect larger accounts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with golf operators, group coordinators, travel planners, and entertainment group leaders
  • Provide timely, customized proposals and close business effectively
  • Maintain group files, contracts, payments, rooming lists, correspondence, and detailed information in the CRM system
  • Stay informed on competitive rates, packages, and industry trends
  • Conduct site inspections and host prospective clients
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team and other departments for campaigns and promotions
  • Prepare and distribute weekly sales recap reports
  • Develop, plan, and organize all golf tournaments and special events ensuring smooth communication
  • Create detailed event and tournament orders including floor plans, food and beverage functions, meeting space, transportation, and special requests
  • Serve as the primary contact for group and tournament clients managing operational needs on- and off-site
  • Maintain collaboration with the Director of Golf and Events Coordinator to execute tournament logistics and guest experiences
  • Track deposits, billing, credits, and final charges for group golf accounts
  • Follow up with clients post-event to ensure satisfaction and cultivate repeat business
  • Identify opportunities to upsell additional services and amenities to increase group revenue
  • Attend sales and staff meetings
  • Support budget planning and monitor departmental spending
  • Maintain professional and positive presence with members, clients, guests, and staff
  • Uphold Juniper Preserve's standards of service, appearance, and guest relations
  • Incorporate safe work practices
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on new assignments
