Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in grounds maintenance or custodial work
- knowledge of landscaping equipment operation
- understanding of chemical handling and safety regulations
- ability to perform physical labor including lifting and outdoor work
- reliable and punctual
- good communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team

- experience with landscaping and grounds maintenance
- knowledge of chemical handling laws and HAZMAT regulations
- ability to operate landscaping equipment such as pole saws, weed eaters, and power washers
- basic maintenance and repair skills
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to follow safety protocols and work independently
Job Duties
- Maintain the general appearance of exterior grounds by following maintenance schedules
- sweep, rake, and blow sidewalks, parking lots, and common areas
- empty exterior trash cans and pick up exterior trash
- assure exterior play areas and equipment are safe
- prune shrubs and trees for appearance and growth
- spray lawn areas with herbicides as directed
- maintain landscape equipment and tools
- power wash sidewalks, exterior of building, and fencing
- perform exterior and interior paint touch ups
- maintain and make minor repairs to irrigation systems
- rake rock areas especially around playground equipment
- provide driveline support including setting up safety cones and signs
- comply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations
- interact professionally with school administration
- perform room set-ups for meetings and events including cafeteria
- assist in building security by locking and unlocking doors and gates
- assist with routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and filters
- notify management of supplies and repair needs
- assist with cleaning and maintaining building facilities as necessary
- adhere to HAZMAT regulations
- perform other duties as assigned
