Job Requirements
- physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds regularly
- ability to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs
- capability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods
- willingness to work outside in all types of weather and noisy environments
- flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED or work experience equivalent
- possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- be able to pass a drug screen and obtain airport security clearance, which includes a 10-year extensive employment, criminal record and residence background check
- if applying at San Francisco (SFO), provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 with a CDC-recognized vaccine
Job Duties
- be actively involved with all ramp team duties including plane talks, baggage and cargo handling, aircraft servicing, safely operating ground support equipment (GSE) around aircraft
- delegate the work of ramp team members on your shift to ensure flights depart on time
- be responsible for conducting on-the-job training and coaching for new team members
- complete safety-critical paperwork for each flight including baggage counts, load counts, and passenger counts as needed and/or assigned
- observe and enforce all ATS and airline safety regulations and company policies
- assure that all GSE maintenance procedures are completed on each shift
