Job Requirements
- Physical stamina and strength to lift/carry/push/pull items weighing up to 70 pounds regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication skills for coordinating with flight crew, gate agents, and ground crew
- Basic math skills
- Computer proficiency for tracking cargo and baggage
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot loading and unloading issues
- Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Authorized to work in the United States or Canada as applicable
- Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security
- Ability to secure a Customs Seal if required
- Preferred one or more years of relevant experience
Job Duties
- Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate
- Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material safely
- Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction
- Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock supplies
- Operate heavy equipment including pushback equipment and maintain safety protocols
- Operate motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers
- Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required
