Job Requirements
- Physical stamina and strength to lift/carry/push/pull items up to 70 pounds regularly and 40-50 pounds repetitively on raised surfaces
- Ability to carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods
- Capability to work in cramped or elevated places
- Alertness to moving vehicles and aircraft
- Ability to use radio equipment to communicate with crew and authorities
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and around loud machinery noises
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Authorization to work in the US or Canada as applicable
- Completion of ramp and SIDA training for airport authority identification security
- Ability to secure Customs Seal if required by customer or role access
- Preferred qualifications include one or more years of relevant experience
Job Duties
- Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate
- Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material safely
- Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage and/or destruction
- Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies
- Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure safety
- Operate and/or drive motorized equipment including belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, bags carts, lavatory carts, and deicers
- Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required
- Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other vital passenger property
- Complete paperwork and enter data into company systems as required
- Follow company procedures and protocols for safe and responsible operation
- Complete all required training and certifications
- Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
