Job Requirements
- Physical stamina and strength to lift/carry/push/pull items of 70 pounds or more regularly
- Ability to carry heavy items up and down narrow stairs
- Frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and stooping
- Ability to work in cramped or high places
- Alertness to moving vehicles and aircraft, and effective use of radio communication
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Good communication, math, computer, problem-solving and time management skills
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Authorization to work in the US or Canada as applicable
- Complete ramp and SIDA training for airport security identification
- Ability to secure Customs Seal if required
- Preferred one or more years of relevant experience
Job Duties
- Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate
- Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loader, or baggage carts in a safe manner
- Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage and/or destruction
- Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies
- Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure the equipment is free of any danger
- Operate and/or drive motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, bag cart, lavatory cart, and deicers
- Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required
- Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other vital passenger property
- Complete paperwork and enter data into company information systems as required
- Follow company safety procedures and complete all required training
- Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
