Job Duties
- Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons
- Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality for freshness
- Promote trust and respect among team members
- Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products to respond to customer questions and make suggestions
- Greet, engage and assist customers
- Inform customers of grocery specials
- Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise
- Report product ordering, shipping and pricing discrepancies to store management
- Adhere to guidelines on cash shortages, overages and restricted sales (Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks)
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers with logs
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of repair needs
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Perform physical duties including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling carts, bending, twisting, climbing
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
