Job Duties
- Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about
- inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items
- check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates
- provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered
- label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are recorded
- gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department to respond to questions and make suggestions
- create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions regarding products
- reinforce safety by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs
- report customer or employee accidents to management
- work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments
- manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
