Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years food service experience in full-service restaurant or events venue
  • One year casino experience preferable
  • Maintains a current Food Handler's License
  • Professional appearance and presentation required
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Suite
  • Working knowledge of employee scheduling
  • High School Diploma or equivalent including Home School Certificate

Job Duties

  • Assist the Grill Manager to hone employee skills and supplement training by working side-by-side with employees
  • Assist the Grill Manager with subordinate performance reviews and counseling sessions
  • Provide leadership and support to the entire Grill/Cafe staff and build morale
  • Maintain a positive and compliant employee relations climate and promote communication
  • Reinforce expectations, procedures, and practices through strong communication and lead by example
  • Assist with employee recordkeeping such as variances, timecards, and attendance
  • Assist with disciplinary decisions and recommend employment actions including hiring and suspension
  • Help with end of month food inventory and controlling labor costs through effective scheduling
  • Ensure food waste is limited through control measures including portion controls and storage procedures
  • Supervise all line setup, prep, and breakdown activities and delegate tasks
  • Monitor food preparation to ensure recipe specifications and portion controls are met
  • Monitor all food served for appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety and employment regulations
  • Coordinate storage, maintenance, and repair of all kitchen equipment
  • Assist with delivery and setup of catered services
  • Perform other duties as assigned
