Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in restaurant kitchen or grilling environment
- Ability to stand for long periods in a hot, active kitchen environment
- Capability to lift up to 25 lbs and safely operate grilling tools and equipment
- Physically able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
- Maintain full awareness while working near open flames and heated surfaces
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong commitment to food safety and cleanliness
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of grilling techniques and Japanese robata cooking preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen environment
- Ability to multitask without sacrificing quality or safety
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your craft
- Team-oriented attitude with clear communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions consistently
- Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged
Job Duties
- Grill proteins, vegetables, and signature items using authentic robata techniques
- Maintain expert heat control, timing, and proper presentation
- Follow precise portioning to uphold food quality and cost control
- Ensure proper marination, skewering, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Keep the robata grill and surrounding area clean, sanitized, and fully stocked
- Communicate effectively with cooks, sushi specialists, and management to ensure timely execution
- Support a safe and positive work environment - always practicing proper food handling procedures
- Uphold Kumori standards of quality, speed, and service excellence
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef
