Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food preparation preferred
- Ability to work early morning hours and rotating weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Food handler's permit or sanitation certification preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Physical capability to lift and move foodstuffs and supplies
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge and practical experience in food service
- Sanitation certification preferred
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Mathematical skills to prepare portions and handle cash accurately
- Technical knowledge to operate commercial cooking appliances
- Ability to write, speak, and read in English
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve food as requested by customer or daily specials
- Operate grill, burners, ovens, and various cooking equipment according to proper procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to safety and food preparation regulations
- Prepare meats, fish, vegetables, and other menu items using various cooking methods
- Observe and test foods being cooked for quality through tasting, smelling, and piercing
- Clean and sanitize workstations, counters, steam tables, and cooking equipment daily
- Assist in orientation and training of new employees
