Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of short order cooking experience
- formal culinary training within five years
- food safety and sanitation certification within one year
- ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- compliance with safety and hygiene regulations
- willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
- reliable attendance and punctuality

- minimum one year of short order cooking experience in a fast-paced environment
- formal culinary training within the last five years
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to follow standardized recipes and production instructions
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- good communication skills
- preferred formal culinary training beyond minimum requirements
- preferred experience in health facility cooking or healthcare nutrition
Job Duties
- performs all food preparation and cooking functions maintaining all quality standards
- prepares food accurately following production sheets and standardized recipes
- controls and adheres to all procedures and state requirements for safe food handling storage and service
- follows strict sanitation standards including hand washing glove use and sanitizing of food contact surfaces utensils equipment and workstations
- monitors and maintains food temperatures at all times
- wraps dates and labels all food items in storage
- adheres to FIFO inventory practices
- operates cooking equipment following established safety procedures
- monitors and controls quantities of foods prepared recording leftovers and waste
- informs the supervisor or chef of any issues related to production equipment food or procedures
- sets up and breaks down food serving lines efficiently and timely
- maintains and records HACCP logs
- ensures compliance with HACCP standards safety storage and food safety regulations
- participates actively in cleaning and housekeeping duties in production areas
- completes all daily production sheet assignments assisting co-workers as needed
- participates in staff development and quality improvement programs
- works both independently and as part of a team maintaining effective relationships with co-workers
- readily performs other tasks and offers cooperation for additional duties assigned
- adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
