Job Requirements
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, kneel and crouch more than 50 percent of the time
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Hands-on working chef position
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Must be able to taste all types of food and respond to visual and aural cues
- Verbal communication skills with employees at all times
- 2 plus years of high-end restaurant experience
- Culinary degree or completion of apprenticeship program preferred
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree from an accredited school preferred
- Completion of an apprenticeship program considered valuable
- Minimum of 2 years experience in high-end restaurant environments
- Excellent knife skills
- Knowledge of food production techniques
- Understanding of Food Service Sanitation Standards
- Basic kitchen equipment operation skills
- Ability to taste and evaluate food
- Proficient in English communication
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes following established recipes and techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and workstations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely food production
- Monitor food quality and presentation
- Adhere to Food Service Sanitation Standards
- Communicate effectively with staff to coordinate kitchen activities
