Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
progressive experience in a security, law enforcement or military environment
valid unrestricted NM Driver's License

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
progressive experience in a security, law enforcement or military environment
computer competence preferred
valid unrestricted NM Driver's License
ability to train and evaluate security personnel
knowledge of security protocols and emergency response
effective communication and interpersonal skills
ability to manage scheduling and coordinate shift coverage

Job Duties

Supervises and manages staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work
conducting performance evaluations
ensuring staff is trained
ensuring employees follow policies and procedures
maintaining a healthy and safe working environment
making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
act as liaison with local emergency responders
patrols campus on foot, in assigned motor vehicle, or other specialized vehicle to ensure security
examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure security
informs faculty, staff, students, and visitors of violations and infractions
provides safety escort services and public assistance
manages and reports irregularities including security breaches and emergencies
performs periodic checks of streetlights
provides safe and efficient transportation using CNM vehicles
responds promptly to operational errors
maintains security controls for CNM access and equipment
provides specialized security in complex operational areas
complies with safety regulations and OSHA standards
serves as Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act
performs other related duties as assigned
