Job Requirements

  • A minimum of ten years experience in a high volume outlet
  • A minimum of 3 years experience managing a team of more than 10 people
  • Hands on experience reading and analyzing financial statements
  • Level One Cicerone preferred
  • Level One Sommelier preferred
  • Hands on experience with business plan and department budget plan creation preferred
  • Current robust knowledge of beer and wine
  • Previous experience with menu creation and beverage costing

Job Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the Grain Restaurant and Brew including the outlet and rooftop terrace
  • Choose and purchase beer products
  • Oversee inventory and storage of beer products
  • Merchandise the Grain’s signature growler
  • Educate team members about products and ensure excellence in product and service delivery
  • Promote associate engagement, retention, and development through leadership
  • Hire, retain, and mentor Grain Associates to execute successful department operations
  • Collaborate with recruiters on hiring guidelines and standards
  • Schedule associates to meet operational needs and budget guidelines
  • Engage in ongoing associate development through coaching and evaluations
  • Drive guest experience through compliance with operating and training plans
  • Facilitate ongoing product education including brew styles and pairings
  • Create and execute brew and private dining menus ensuring quality and value
  • Review guest feedback daily and implement improvements
  • Establish partnerships with local brewers and distributors
  • Work collaboratively with support departments to maximize outlet performance
  • Implement and adhere to operating plans, SOPs, and checklists
  • Ensure guest safety and satisfaction through adherence to health standards and alcohol service policies
  • Maintain asset protection through facility inspections and security
  • Manage ordering and requisitioning processes to meet cost objectives
  • Set and achieve short-term and long-term goals in collaboration with management
  • Practice responsible financial management and budget adherence
  • Perform emergency response duties as required
