Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Additional financial certifications such as CPA, CGFM, or MBA
  • 10+ years of industry accounting experience
  • Significant related experience at a major defense contractor, DCMA, or DCAA
  • Significant expertise in US Government contracting with knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and CAS
  • Practical experience calculating General Dollar Magnitude (GDM) and preparing CASB Disclosure Statements
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Deltek Costpoint, or similar ERPs
  • Strong cost accounting background with experience in internal controls, consolidation, and reporting
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to manage and develop accounting teams
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Ability to work proactively with government auditors and regulatory agencies

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Additional financial certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Significant expertise in US Government contracting with broad understanding of FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards
  • Expertise in Government Accounting with practical experience calculating complex General Dollar Magnitude (GDM) cost impacts and CASB Disclosure Statements
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Deltek Costpoint, or similar financial ERPs
  • Knowledge of US Government contract accounting requirements, GAAP, DCMA, DCAA, and CAS standards
  • Strong cost accounting background related to US Government contracting
  • Internal controls, consolidation, and reporting experience
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong adaptability, communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and meet the needs of internal and external customers
  • Action and results-oriented with the ability to set and achieve strategic goals in a performance-driven culture

Job Duties

  • Lead the preparation, submission, and maintenance of FlightSafety's Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) disclosure statements and related updates
  • Perform general dollar magnitude analyses to evaluate the impact of CAS non-compliances, disclosure statement revisions, and cost accounting practice changes
  • Lead efforts to ensure alignment of processes with DFARS Business System requirements
  • Partner with internal functions including Finance, Operations, Program Management, and Contracts to identify, assess, and implement compliant accounting practices tied to evolving business initiatives
  • Support government audits including incurred cost submissions, disclosure statement reviews, and proposal audits, serving as the primary point of contact for government auditors
  • Drive the indirect rate strategy including the development, review, and submission of provisional, final billing, and forward pricing rates
  • Establish and redefine policies, processes, and controls amidst system changes and/or upgrades to ensure ongoing compliance with CAS, FAR, DFARS, and related legal and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively engage with DCMA, DCAA, and other regulatory agencies to build trust, credibility, and transparency
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance processes, enhance audit readiness, and increase organizational operating and cost efficiency
  • Act as a strategic advisor to leadership, providing insights on regulatory impacts, compliance requirements, and associated risks
