Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • valid Texas driver's license
  • minimum four years of golf industry experience
  • minimum two years of public sector administrative support experience

  • strong leadership and staff management skills
  • knowledge of budget monitoring and event coordination
  • ability to manage inventory and merchandise sales
  • proficient in payroll preparation and accounts payable duties
  • excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • experience with scheduling and calendar management
  • competent in research and data compilation
  • ability to create comprehensive reports

Job Duties

  • manage golf shop staff
  • assign tasks and projects
  • train and evaluate staff's skills
  • meet with staff regularly to discuss and resolve operational issues
  • manage golf shop merchandise and kitchen food and beverage purchasing, pricing, displaying, special orders
  • inventory control and selling merchandise
  • assist with the budget process and monitoring
  • assist in planning and developing golf tournaments
  • prepare and verify deposits for processing
  • prepare payroll for departmental employees
  • act as accounts payable for department
  • pay monthly and merchandise expenses
  • provide a variety of management duties, technical support and administrative duties
  • make appropriate decisions based on work experience and training
  • oversee department administrative workflow
  • apply knowledge of policies and procedures to organize and coordinate work
  • exercise initiative and independent judgment in performing duties
  • answer questions requiring judgment, knowledge and interpretation of City policies
  • respond independently to inquiries and resolve problems
  • maintain calendars and resolve complex meeting and travel schedules
  • coordinate meeting rooms and resources
  • compose and create letters, memoranda and official documents
  • monitor and review accounting, budgets and expenditures
  • maintain department files
  • research files and computer databases
  • collect and compile statistical data
  • develop and create technical and statistical reports
  • update manual and computer records and tracking systems
  • assure all administrative actions comply with City policy
