Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in golf/course management or 2-year degree in Business Administration or related field
  • must be a Professional Golfers Association (PGA) member
  • ability to lead a management team
  • experience with budget development and financial reporting
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to develop strategic operating plans
  • knowledge of golf course maintenance and agronomic practices
  • capacity to manage multiple priorities
  • excellent communication skills
  • availability to work full-time schedule at the resort location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in golf/course management
  • Professional Golfers Association (PGA) member
  • or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration or related field with no work experience required

Job Duties

  • Assumes responsibility for financial goal achievement, analysis and reporting
  • leads management team to develop and execute a business plan that meets brand and owner financial goals
  • supports recruiting, development, training and mentoring of golf employees
  • develops and manages operating budget, capital expenditures, food and beverage and marketing plans with the leadership team
  • verifies compliance with corporate and brand standards
  • monitors day-to-day operations of the golf property
  • drives guest service and employee satisfaction
  • maintains active PGA or LPGA membership by fulfilling certification requirements
  • develops mutually beneficial relationships with owner’s organization
  • monitors playing time of golfers to ensure optimal speed of play
  • conducts regular course tours to evaluate conditions
  • develops and executes golf department operating strategy
  • reviews and manages controllable expenses such as labor, supplies, inventory, and utilities
  • collaborates with Grounds Superintendent to maintain course standards
  • makes decisions on rates, retail pricing and services to enhance sales performance
  • manages financial performance to exceed budget expectations
  • adjusts services to meet customer demand and budget
  • monitors tee time bookings to maximize yield
  • exemplifies excellent customer service leadership
  • empowers employees to provide outstanding service
  • strives to improve service performance
  • establishes clear guidelines for employee expectations
  • reviews guest feedback with employees and develops corrective actions
  • incorporates guest satisfaction in departmental meetings
