The hiring establishment for the Parking Attendant position operates within the Valet department, likely in a hotel or hospitality setting where valet parking service is a key element of guest satisfaction. Job Requirements
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with current address and acceptable driving record
- Previous experience working in a hotel setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have or obtain all required work cards
- Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment
- Must be able to stand during entire shift
- Ability to work in noisy environments and possible exposure to secondhand smoke
- Physical capability to perform standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping
- Able to park and retrieve guest cars without causing damage
- Must be in constant contact with fellow team members and guests
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management both written and verbally
- Ability to communicate in English
- Proficient in computer applications
Job Duties
- Practice and promote company service standards at all times
- Demonstrate attention to detail and complete assignments accurately
- Deliver high levels of guest service
- Follow instructions provided in both written and verbal form
- Maintain high attention to detail and workplace safety
- Work self-motivated and able to perform under pressure
- Assist guests in a prompt and courteous manner
- Maintain communication and cooperation with other shifts and departments
- Have thorough knowledge of garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways to assist customers
- Keep track of vehicles entering the parking area
- Safely park and return guest vehicles professionally
- Verify that valet tickets are completed properly including vehicle and guest information and damage documentation
- Ensure vehicles are secure by checking doors, windows, trunk, and lights
- Report any vehicle security issues to hotel management
- Monitor and direct personal and commercial vehicle traffic on the property
- Provide daily direction to valet staff
