Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of global trade compliance experience
  • 5+ experience determining the US, interpreting international HS classifications, ECCN and USML determinations and customs valuation
  • Experience building trade compliance tools that integrate into daily development and operations of the company
  • Highly organized, detail obsessed, and proactive
  • Adaptable to balancing tactical urgency with long-term program development and delivering results
  • Position must meet US export control compliance requirements
  • Candidate must qualify as a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, including US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in international trade, law, or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of global trade compliance experience
  • 5+ years experience determining US and international HS classifications, ECCN and USML determinations, and customs valuation
  • Proven experience building trade compliance tools integrated into daily company operations
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive ownership
  • Ability to balance tactical urgency with long-term program development
  • Excellent communication and project management skills

Job Duties

  • Embed trade compliance in the company by leveraging project management skills to implement projects across multiple teams including engineering, operations, finance, marketing, procurement, logistics, manufacturing and legal
  • Build tools to determine and manage global import harmonized schedule classification (HS) and export classification (ECCN and USML) using repeatable logic, enabling the business to make quick decisions and simplify user experience
  • Develop, implement and maintain the global trade compliance policy and manuals to ensure alignment with business structure as US operations expand and go-to-market opportunities in countries abroad increase
  • Enhance customs valuation methodology and calculations applicable across multiple countries
  • Provide guidance and advice to import-export operations team for complex cross-border clearance situations
  • Deliver targeted training and communications for different teams within the company
  • Test and review restricted party screening tools ensuring comprehensive coverage and automate review processes
  • Configure and streamline auditing programs of import-export declarations and access controls, collaborating with IT and security teams to enhance controls
