Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-8 years of events management experience
- 3-5 years in congress or tradeshow management
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical congress landscape
- Experience in project team leadership
- Experience with financial and budget management
- Compliance mindset with focus on industry guidelines and company policies
- Proven problem-solving and independent working skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to work in Wilmington office minimum three days weekly
- Ability and willingness to travel 30% of time
- Ability to handle flexible working hours including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 5-8 years of experience in events management including 3-5 years in congress or tradeshow management
- Demonstrated financial and budget management proficiency
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical congress landscape, industry codes, and best practices
- Experience planning face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual meetings
- Ability to lead project teams and manage external suppliers
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Proficiency in MS Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to travel up to 30% as required
- Knowledge of global pharmaceutical market and external stakeholders such as physicians, payers, and patients
Job Duties
- Own the planning and coordination of AstraZeneca's presence at US-based congresses through third-party agencies
- Build and own project plans including negotiating contracts and managing budgets
- Manage attendee registration, housing, staffing, travel arrangements, and event agendas to deliver congresses on time and on budget
- Support US market congress strategy and provide subject matter guidance for effective planning and execution
- Partner with business owners, cross-functional stakeholders, associations, and internal and external partners to meet all deadlines and opportunities
- Manage approved vendors and secure resources while meeting quality standards and budget requirements
- Oversee on-site activities at congresses to ensure flawless execution and risk mitigation
- Use innovative technology to improve collaboration and increase efficiency
- Manage internal compliance processes and guide stakeholders on regulatory requirements
- Identify cost-saving initiatives while adhering to evolving policies and laws
- Coordinate activities across time zones and accommodate flexible working hours to meet congress timelines
