Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facilities management, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities management or operational leadership
  • Proven experience managing multi-location or global teams
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Ability to manage capital projects and budgets
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 times per month
  • Capability to work in-person five days per week at Newlab Brooklyn

Job Qualifications

  • Proven record in driving operational efficiency and excellence in facilities management
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships globally
  • Capable of overseeing capital projects ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Demonstrable success in leading multifaceted teams and executing cross-functional projects
  • Experience in hospitality preferred
  • Engineering experience preferred
  • Experience in startup lab/shop/prototyping environments preferred
  • Track record of building and managing community relationships preferred
  • Experience collaborating with government agencies preferred

Job Duties

  • Develop, monitor, and meet operational and capital project budgets
  • Direct comprehensive preventive maintenance programs and schedules for all critical building systems and infrastructure
  • Serve as strategic thought leader and partner on future facilities needs and operational improvements
  • Develop location-specific SLAs and standards for facilities
  • Develop and maintain global facilities and EHS protocols tailored to member companies
  • Coordinate with local teams to ensure daily operations meet standards
  • Manage vendor relationships to maintain high operational standards and appropriate cost vs. value
  • Lead new location onboarding, expansion, and capital projects ensuring compliance and safety
  • Onboard and train local teams on EHS protocols
  • Liaise with construction contractors as needed
