Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Assist customers with product selections
- Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily
- Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for quality
- Assist in technical areas such as set-up and clean-up
- Use suggestive selling techniques to build sales
- Clean and sanitize display cases
- Operate and maintain equipment properly
- Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Follow department and store operating procedures
- Record production and shrink in bakery as needed
- Assist with baking, frying, and decorating in bakery
- Manage service counter customers in deli
- Use ordering system applications in deli
- Perform inventory management in deli
- Ensure catering orders are ready for pickup
- Maintain sanitation for deli slicers
- Serve and package prepared foods
- Educate customers on preparation and reheating
- Prepackage condiments for prepared foods
- Prepare food items such as cutting, slicing, dicing, and chopping
