Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- ability to work with customers attentively
- physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and safely manage heavier loads with assistance
- ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push and pull
- ability to work in wet, cold, hot conditions, and exposure to loud noise

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning in bakery
- takes care of service counter customers in deli
- serves and packages prepared foods at customer request
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- manages inventory processes as required
