Job Duties

  • Provides superior customer service
  • Takes cake orders from customers by telephone or in person with high accuracy
  • Answers customer questions and assists with product selections
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build sales
  • Applies proper decorating techniques for cakes and pastries according to visual training aids
  • Writes on cakes with icing on request
  • Reads and executes daily production list
  • Ensures quality control of products before sending to sales floor
  • Ensures cakes reach showcase at prescribed times
  • Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh products
  • Slices, packages, labels, and rotates products
  • Records production and shrink for planning
  • Maintains sanitation in work area
  • Complies with food safety and store operating procedures
  • Operates and maintains equipment properly
