Job Description

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe is a federally recognized tribal government located in Snoqualmie, Washington. Dedicated to the well-being and cultural preservation of its members, the Tribe operates various community programs and services that enhance the quality of life for tribal members and the surrounding community. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year event coordination experience for Level I
  • Two years event coordination or tribal program experience for Level II
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License
  • HIPAA certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to pass background investigation
  • Agreement to Tribe’s Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work weekends and occasional travel up to 25 percent

Job Qualifications

  • Combination of education and experience demonstrating ability to perform essential functions
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, public administration, or related field preferred for Level II
  • One year prior event coordination experience required for Level I
  • Two years previous work experience in event coordination, tribal resource programs, or tribal government required for Level II
  • Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations including tribal members, educators, and veterans
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Native cultures and traditions strongly preferred
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License
  • HIPAA certification within 30 days of employment

Job Duties

  • Coordinate events for the General Resources Department including veteran brunches and family events
  • Manage Child Development Center operations including educator visits and supply orders
  • Assist in clerical duties for large special projects including curriculum development and grant tracking
  • Oversee smaller special projects such as shipments for heritage month and veterans' day
  • Monitor program activities related to Veteran Resources and external partnerships
  • Compile and analyze event attendance and budget data for reports
  • Issue and track the General Welfare Minor Supplemental Benefit twice per year
  • Collaborate with tribal and external organizations on event programming
  • Monitor event compliance with regulations and make recommendations
  • Assist in planning department goals and policies
  • Work with legal counsel on vendor contracts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
