Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in hotel management or related field
  • A 4-year college degree with 4-5 years of relevant experience
  • A 2-year college degree with 5-6 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing software
  • Valid driver's license in the applicable state
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Effective communication and resolution skills with co-workers and guests
  • Proficiency in financial data analysis and basic arithmetic functions
  • Experience with renovation and brand conversion

Job Duties

  • Interact with guests and staff in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards with schedules varying based on needs
  • Adhere to grooming standards and dress code including wearing a name tag
  • Ensure adherence to operational standards for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Ensure compliance with certification requirements such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, and CPR/First Aid
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to discuss prospecting, sales calls, and business opportunities
  • Play an active role in hotel sales including meeting top clients and hosting events
  • Regularly tour hotel departments making adjustments through department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions focusing on effective training techniques
  • Meet all financial deadlines and corporate program requirements
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers
  • Ensure department heads follow budgeted productivity levels and accounting procedures
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities through training and programs
  • Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as scheduled
  • Maintain direct contact with and support the development of management trainees
  • Ensure training in service standards across all departments
  • Foster a positive, guest-focused, team-oriented work environment
  • Conduct regular room inspections with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
  • Ensure daily invoice processing is completed
  • Oversee accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Ensure property is clean, well-maintained, and meets safety standards
  • Ensure staff interactions with guests are attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient
  • Prepare monthly financial forecasts by estimating revenues and analyzing past data
  • Conduct interviews for management-level positions and assist in hiring
  • Administer performance appraisals
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline management staff as needed
  • Maintain open communication with managers, employees, and departments
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees according to policies
