Job Requirements

  • Degree in hospitality management or culinary degree preferred but not mandatory
  • minimum 3-5 years experience as a restaurant or general manager in a high volume, full service, upscale restaurant
  • solid financial acumen and experience with profit and loss statements
  • ability to multitask in a high-volume environment while maintaining composure and humor
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • passion for creating memorable dining experiences and exceeding guest expectations
  • resilience in stressful situations and handling last minute requests
  • passion for service standards and clean work habits with attention to detail
  • natural leadership skills and team player with positive influence on employee morale
  • strong computer skills
  • bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and costs
  • basic algebra and geometry knowledge

  • minimum 3 years of experience leading a full-service, high-quality restaurant
  • proficiency in drink preparation and bar menu development
  • proficiency in staff relations and training
  • proficiency in budget development and financial goal attainment
  • ability to be focused and decisive in fast-paced environments
  • good physical condition for lifting and prolonged standing
  • sincere desire to provide quality service
  • keen attention to detail
  • well-groomed appearance
  • possession of a valid Health Department Food Handlers Card

Job Duties

  • Monitor daily restaurant production through consultation with the Director of Restaurant Operations
  • monitor labor, food, liquor, wine, beer, and other operational costs
  • maintain the highest standards of food and drink quality and freshness
  • maintain the highest standards of service
  • delegate job responsibilities to staff as required
  • address staff disciplinary actions as necessary
  • maintain systems for ordering restaurant goods
  • maintain par system for bar and restaurant business levels
  • conduct monthly physical inventory for inventory control
  • manage budgetary goals for food, liquor, wine, beer, labor costs, and other expenses
  • maintain inventory levels of all restaurant glassware
  • order and maintain par levels on all non-alcoholic beverages
  • ensure consistent and uniform quality levels
  • be familiar with menu items and their preparation
  • be familiar with bar items and their preparation
  • assist other staff members as necessary
  • maintain physical workspace cleanliness and compliance with health codes
  • assist in liquor, wine, beer buying and sourcing
  • represent the company positively to customers, purveyors, writers, and others
  • work various staff positions as needed
  • work double shifts if required
  • open or close the restaurant as required
  • attend all scheduled staff meetings
