This position is for Restaurant R'evolution, a standout culinary establishment within Sonesta's portfolio that embodies an exceptional fine dining experience. The hotel group is seeking a seasoned management professional to oversee all aspects of service within Restaurant R'evolution. This includes supervising day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards at all levels, and upholding the highest quality in service delivery. As the manager, you will lead the entire Restaurant R'evolution team, including Front of House managers and the Chef de Cuisine, to create an outstanding dining ambiance characterized by great service, culinary excellence, and operational efficiency.

The role requires a dynamic leader who can plan and organize work effectively, communicate and enforce policies, and provide coaching and development to staff members. The successful candidate must ensure the restaurant adheres to Sonesta's Service Standards and internal SOPs such as those for "Home on the Range." They will be responsible for maintaining pristine hygiene standards and promoting a safe working and guest environment, including the management of incident reports when necessary. Guest satisfaction is paramount; responding to complaints with appropriate actions to convert dissatisfied guests into loyal patrons is a key expectation.

In addition to front-line supervision, the manager is tasked with financial stewardship that involves achieving budgeted revenues, controlling expenses, labor costs, and maximizing profitability across all food and beverage operations. Inventory and equipment security, as well as proper maintenance, fall under this role's responsibilities. The proactive monitoring of restaurant equipment and facilities to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and readiness for anticipated volumes is critical.

The manager will also play a part in broader organizational activities such as attending Food & Beverage meetings and supporting wine and beverage programs alongside the Wine Director. Compliance with company standards to increase sales while minimizing costs, including food, beverage, supplies, utilities, and labor, is crucial. Additionally, administrative duties involving financial reporting, personnel, and payroll must be completed accurately and timely.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five years of related work and management experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Capacity to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities including color vision required
  • Able to comply with health, safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to provide staff counseling, coaching and discipline
  • Adept at completing administrative financial and personnel tasks on time and accurately

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
  • Five years of related work experience plus management experience
  • General Manager experience preferred
  • Training in hospitality or restaurant management
  • ServSafe certification
  • Ability to perform essential job duties satisfactorily
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience managing a fine dining restaurant team
  • Familiarity with food and beverage inventory and cost control
  • Ability to respond to guest complaints in a professional manner

Job Duties

  • Oversees and supervises day-to-day activities

  • Responsible for ensuring that Front of the House Staff are trained and follows Home on the Range SOP's as well as Sonesta's Service Standards
  • Provides staff counseling, coaching, and discipline as required
  • Ensures compliance with company and statutory hygiene standards in all areas
  • Ensures a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
  • Responds to complaints, taking appropriate action to convert dissatisfied guests
  • Circulates throughout the restaurant maintaining a high profile with customers and staff
  • Remains informed on industry trends and makes suggestions for improvement
  • Achieves budgeted revenues, controls expenses, labor costs, and maximizes profitability
  • Maintains security and proper storage of restaurant inventory and equipment
  • Ensures all restaurant equipment is operational and cleaned regularly
  • Attends Food & Beverage meetings
  • Adheres to company standards to increase sales and minimize costs
  • Completes financial and personnel/payroll administrative duties accurately
  • Maintains professional restaurant image including cleanliness and appearance standards
  • Develops employees with feedback and performance reviews
  • Oversees management of Wine Cellar and Bar R'evolution beverage program
  • Performs other duties as assigned
