Job Requirements

  • MA or MS degree or BA or BS with business-related major
  • Minimum 5 years general manager or above management experience in a high volume sports and entertainment venue
  • Certification from a nationally recognized advanced food service sanitation training course
  • Ability to communicate with clients, employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to make sound business decisions quickly and under pressure
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, POS systems, timekeeping systems, and data and analytics platforms
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing concessions and premium services locations including geographical location, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access
  • Possess valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required by state or local government
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and safety standards pertaining to OVG and venue concession and premium services operations
  • Ability to calculate basic and complex math functions
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Accounting minor or credits preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensure legal, efficient, professional and profitable operation of the assigned OVG venue
  • Generate and review financial reports including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, disbursements, capital investments, labor and product costs, wage and salary control, and P&L financial statements
  • Author and present strategic operational plans to clients
  • Review and assist in menu and marketing plans development
  • Lead innovation of new service styles, technology platforms, and sustainability initiatives
  • Make final decisions on equipment purchases, capital expenditures and leases
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, show managers, suppliers, vendors and the public
  • Perform conflict resolution, mediation, arbitration and labor negotiations when applicable
  • Author, review and amend policies and procedures
  • Author and amend contracts and authorize terms
  • Oversee scheduling and labor allocation
  • Analyze ticket sales to anticipate staffing needs and target market demographics
  • Evaluate historical sales and purchasing data to identify purchasing patterns and cost of goods
  • Program and maintain point-of-sale systems for financial reporting and commodity tracking
  • Direct and assist managers in preparing and attaining future goals
  • Inspect operations regularly to maintain quality standards
  • Prepare and submit reports accurately and on time
  • Develop and retain an effective management team
  • Provide managers with clear direction and necessary assistance
  • Evaluate each manager’s performance and recommend improvements
