Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in food services or concessions
  • Possess Concessions Manager Certificate
  • Hold advanced food service sanitation certification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to make operational decisions under pressure
  • Proficient in English
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team environment
  • Knowledge of venue concession operations and safety regulations
  • Valid Food Handler’s certificate
  • Alcohol Service Permit if required
  • Strong math ability
  • Cash handling experience
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in unionized environments
  • Preferred experience in stadium or ballpark
  • Accounting coursework a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Bachelor’s degree with a business-related major
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in food-related or concessions industry
  • Concessions Manager Certificate from the National Association of Concessionaires
  • Nationally recognized advanced food service sanitation training course certification
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally fostering a positive work environment
  • Ability to make sound business and operational decisions quickly and under pressure
  • Proficiency in English language skills
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Thorough knowledge of concessions and premium service locations including geographic and operational details
  • Valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required
  • Familiarity with sanitation, food preparation, alcohol service, and safety standards applicable to venue operations
  • Strong math skills including basic and complex functions
  • Experience handling cash accurately and responsibly
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience in fast-paced ballpark or stadium setting preferred
  • Accounting minor or coursework preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensure legal, efficient, professional and profitable operation of the assigned venue
  • Generate and review financial reports including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, disbursements, capital investments, labor and product costs, wage and salary control, and P&L financial statements
  • Make final decisions on equipment purchases and leases
  • Resolve conflicts including mediation, arbitration, and labor negotiations when applicable
  • Author, review and amend policies and procedures as required
  • Author and amend contracts and authorize terms
  • Oversee scheduling and labor allocation
  • Analyze ticket sales to anticipate staffing needs and target market demographics
  • Evaluate sales and purchasing data to identify purchasing patterns and accurate cost of goods
  • Program and maintain point of sale systems to ensure accurate financial reporting and tracking
  • Direct and assist managers in preparing and attaining future goals
  • Provide managers with proper direction and follow up on assignments
  • Inspect operations regularly to maintain established quality standards
  • Prepare accurate reports and ensure timely submissions
  • Develop an effective management team
  • Give clear direction to managers and support their work
  • Evaluate the performance of managers and recommend improvements
  • Review and assist in menu and marketing plan development
  • Establish and maintain relationships with show managers, suppliers, vendors, and the public
