Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years experience in food and beverage management or related position
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Ability to train and mentor employees
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management
  • Experience in high-volume product ordering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make operational decisions under pressure
  • Capacity to work flexible, event-driven schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of sanitation, food handling, alcohol service regulations, and safety standards
  • Basic math skills
  • Commitment to integrity and confidentiality
  • Certification in food service sanitation and alcohol service preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field
  • 5-7 years experience in Food & Beverage Management or related field
  • Degree may be substituted with 5-7+ years experience in a similar role
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping
  • Experience training employees and volunteers
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
  • Experience ordering product for a high-volume venue
  • Effective communication skills fostering a positive and cooperative work environment
  • Ability to make sound operational decisions quickly under pressure
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven environments
  • Thorough knowledge of sanitation, food preparation, alcohol service policies, and safety standards
  • Competent in basic math calculations related to POS and inventory
  • Commitment to high standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality
  • Nationally recognized food service sanitation training certification preferred
  • Nationally recognized alcohol service training certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage, develop and mentor part-time and full-time staff including employee discipline and performance documentation
  • Generate and review financial reports including budgets, projections, forecasting, and P&L statements
  • Coordinate marketing channels such as website and social media
  • Design and produce graphics, digital content and creative assets for social media and websites
  • Create and distribute press releases, announcements, and media content to promote events
  • Build and maintain strong media and community relationships including local chambers of commerce and CVBs
  • Monitor and report on marketing performance, budgets, and analytics
  • Ensure proper event setup including verifying inventory, assigning duties, and sanitation standards
  • Provide oversight for smooth, efficient and profitable event execution
  • Oversee inventory management and high volume sales
  • Manage venue operations including staff scheduling, equipment inspection, POS monitoring, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, cleanup, and post-event reporting
  • Train employees on property procedures and best practices
  • Cover or back-up open positions to maintain operational standards
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and company policies on labor, sanitation, food handling, and alcohol service
  • Complete post-event evaluations, data tracking, report generation, and POS training
  • Maintain a safe and harassment-free work environment
  • Provide ongoing assistance, training, mentoring and reinforcement of work place expectations to staff and volunteers
