Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management or related field
- Minimum of 5 years operations management experience
- Proven ability to manage large teams and a multi-million dollar P&L
- Strong analytical and financial skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and practice management software
- Ability to travel as needed
- High emotional intelligence and professionalism

- Knowledge of regulatory compliance including DEA, OSHA
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management or related field
- MBA or master’s level business education is a plus
- Experience developing and leading teams of 75+ with multiple layers of employees
- Proven record of successfully managing a P&L with revenue of $10M+
- In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles such as supply chain, finance, customer service, and optimizing workflows
- Expert knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Acute financial analysis skills related to EBITDA, revenue, and cost drivers
- Experience developing long-term business strategies and ensuring policy compliance
- Ability to evaluate operational efficiency and apply mitigation plans
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct presentations and training to large groups
- Willingness to travel as necessary
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Previous practice management software knowledge a plus
- High emotional intelligence and professional manner
- Experience leading site renovation or relocation a plus
Job Duties
- Acts as a collaborative liaison between hospitals, NVA support center, and the Director of Divisional Operations and Manager of Regional Operations
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of organizational and local practice policies and procedures
- Effectively leverages practice management software and NVA support systems for reporting and training
- Ensures proper staff scheduling and optimization
- Analyzes and interprets operational reports and identifies areas for improvement
- Implements and champions NVA initiatives as a change manager
- Oversees employee benefits program and hospital insurance plans
- Develops and implements hospital policy including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA compliance
- Performs quality checks and reviews of client files
- Monitors computer systems and works with HelpDesk to resolve technical systems and equipment issues
- Strategizes and works with Managing Veterinarian to implement and ensure best veterinary practices in medicine and business structure
- Collaborates with the Managing Veterinarian and Division Leader to create overall strategy and obtains staff buy-in
- Creates action plans, sets and manages goals, delegates tasks, and tracks performance
- Sets productivity and financial targets and holds managers accountable
- Analyzes and improves systems, policies and processes
- Plans, organizes, and participates in regional meetings
- Acts as a champion for change and promotes best practices
- Trains new managers and department leads and provides ongoing development
- Collaborates with support center staff for new hospital staff positioning
- Mentors, coaches, and sets expectations with hospital leadership and staff
- Ensures financial and operational training for managers and leads
- Analyzes hospital financial health and diagnoses issues
- Leads annual budget preparation and communication
- Oversees cost management including labor
- Drives revenue growth
- Ensures accurate payroll submission
- Manages accounts receivable and cash handling
- Controls hospital inventory and administrative costs
- Addresses staffing needs including hiring, training, reviewing, and disciplining
- Manages performance management cycle and assists with personnel issues
- Ensures compliance with HR policies
- Conducts staff performance reviews and supports career development
- Makes recommendations for training and development
- Negotiates and mediates conflicts
- Implements incentive and recognition programs
- Manages multiple hospital operational roles and tracks licensure
- Demonstrates and reinforces the highest level of client service
- Resolves client issues and oversees follow-up
- Drives client visits through strategic communication and marketing
- Develops and oversees client acquisition and retention initiatives
- Assesses quality of service and provides direction for enhancement
- Performs other duties essential to hospital performance as assigned
