Job Requirements
- Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight of $1MM or greater
- Proven experience organizing, booking, and operating sports tournaments and events
- Operational knowledge of food and beverage, entertainment, sport clubs, corporate events, and team building
- Experience collaborating with convention visitor bureaus, regional sports commissions, and event management
- Minimum of 7 years of management experience preferably in sports, recreation, facilities, hotel, convention center, or entertainment sectors
- Senior-level experience in large multi-purpose arenas or stadiums
- Operational knowledge of risk management and leadership development
- Expertise in sports programming and event operations
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food and beverage, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years management experience in sports, recreation, facilities, hotel, convention center, or entertainment industries
- Proven experience in sports tournament and event operations including soccer, baseball, softball, and lacrosse
- Senior-level experience in multi-purpose arenas or stadiums
- Operational knowledge of food and beverage, entertainment, sports clubs, corporate events, and team building
- Experience working with convention visitor bureaus and regional sports commissions
- Expertise in sports programming and sports event operations
Job Duties
- Analyze operations to evaluate performance and identify cost reduction opportunities
- Appoint department heads or managers and delegate responsibilities
- Confer with ownership, advisors, and staff to resolve issues and coordinate activities
- Coordinate development and implementation of budgetary and administrative control systems
- Direct and implement policies and objectives to ensure continuous operations and maximize returns
- Implement corrective action plans to address problems
- Prepare and present reports on activities, expenses, and budgets
- Represent the organization at official functions or delegate representatives
- Serve as liaison between shareholders and external organizations
- Administer site selection, construction needs, and equipment provision programs
- Direct activities related to production, pricing, sales, and distribution
- Negotiate and approve contracts with suppliers and agencies
- Prepare budgets for approval and recommend adjustments
- Review staff reports for approval or suggested changes
- Schedule and monitor staff training seminars
- Perform additional duties as assigned
